Bay City is a beautiful city located a little inland from Matagorda Bay. The population of the small city is 17,615. Offshore rigs are prevalent along the Gulf of Mexico. Bay City supports its local tradition of being an excellent spot for migratory bird watching and has a 35-acre Nature Center dedicated to the sport.
