The Lowndes County Courthouse features a Greek Revival-style architecture, and was added to the National Register of Historic Places on June 24, 1971. The Lowndesboro Historic District features several interesting historic buildings, some dating back to the 1830s. The Lowndesboro Historic District was added to the National Register of Historic Places on December 12, 1973.
