Otis Hare Archaeological Site is located along the banks of the majestic Apalachicola River, and has been the site of archaeological digs. The Otis Hare Archaeological Site was added to the National Register of Historic Places on July 26, 1989. The Yon Mound and Village Site is another interesting historic site, and was once occupied by the peoples of the Fort Walton Culture. Many interesting artifacts have been found at the Yon Mound and Village Site. The Yon Mound and Village Site was added to the National Register of Historic Places on December 15, 1978.
